See who has access to a folder and remove guest collaborators
3 min read
A folder’s full audience lives in one panel: open the folder, click “Share”, and expand “Who has access”. It separates four sources — members with project access, people invited directly to the folder, guests, and active share links.
- 1 Review the list, paying attention to the “via project” tag: those people inherit access from the project, not the folder itself.
- 2 To remove a guest, click the ⋯ next to their name and choose “Remove access”. It takes effect immediately — their synced copies stop updating and open browser tabs lose access on next load.
- 3 If someone keeps reappearing, they’re inheriting from the project level — remove them from the project’s member list instead, or move the folder to a more restricted project.
- 4 Don’t forget the links section at the bottom: a guest you removed can still get in through an active “anyone with the link” URL, so revoke those too if the folder is going private.
Removal never deletes a guest’s comments or upload history — attribution is preserved so past work still makes sense, they just can’t see anything new.
