Upload your first project folder with the desktop sync client
6 min read
The desktop sync client is the fastest way to get an existing project into Anchor Cloud — it mirrors a folder from your machine and keeps both sides updated from then on, so you never upload the same work twice.
- 1 Download the client from Settings → Apps in your workspace (macOS and Windows) and sign in with your workspace email.
- 2 Click “Add project folder” in the tray menu and point it at the local folder you want to mirror — for example the Q1-launch folder on your desktop.
- 3 Choose a sync mode: “Mirror everything” keeps a full local copy, while “Cloud-only for archives” frees disk space by keeping rarely-used subfolders online only.
- 4 Watch the tray icon: it spins during the first upload and turns solid teal when the folder is fully mirrored. Teammates will see it under Projects immediately.
For very large folders, start with one subfolder to confirm everything looks right, then add the rest — uploads are resumable, so a dropped connection picks up where it left off instead of starting over.
