Understand what counts toward your pooled storage limit

4 min read

Storage is pooled across your whole workspace — one number for the team, not a quota per person. Two things count against it: the current version of every file, and anything sitting in the trash (until the 30-day purge).

Just as important is what doesn’t count: version history snapshots are free, cloud-only placeholder files on desktops use no quota, and files other workspaces have shared with you count against their pool, not yours.

To see where your storage is going, open Billing → Storage. The breakdown lists every project by size, with a “largest files” view for finding the 4 GB video exports nobody remembers.

Quick reclaim tip: empty the trash before considering an upgrade — teams routinely find 10–15% of their pool tied up in deleted-but-not-purged files.
