Understand how Anchor Cloud organizes workspaces, projects, and folders

3 min read

Your workspace is your company: it holds the member list, billing, and org-wide policies like link expiration. Almost every team needs exactly one.

Projects live inside the workspace and map to real engagements — a client, a product launch, a quarter’s campaign. Each project has its own access list, so the “Acme rebrand” project can include Acme’s reviewers as guests without exposing anything else.

Folders live inside projects and hold the actual files. They inherit the project’s permissions unless you override them, and share links are created at the folder or file level — never at the project level.

Rule of thumb: fewer projects, more folders. Split into a new project only when a different set of people needs access — if it’s the same team, a folder is enough.
